Winemakers Event - April 30th

April 11, 2018

(Registration is now closed - but we will be taking notes on this event and posting them on this blog, so please check back after the 30th)

The Vermont Fresh Network and the Vermont Grape & Wine Council are hosting an event for all Vermont winemakers interested in increasing their wine sales to Vermont restaurants. It combines wine tasting and evaluation by restaurant wine buyers / beverage managers, and also a more general conversation about how restaurants put together their wine lists.

This workshop will take place on Monday, April 30th at The Essex Resort from 1:00 - 4:00pm. The deadline for signing up is Monday, April 23rd.

Each participating winery will have a chance to have their wines tasted and reviewed - however we will be limiting the total number of wines so that there is enough time to thoughtfully discuss each. Similarly, there will be a limited number of spots available to each winery, to allow for more in depth conversation and a balanced number of representatives - we will start with two and expand as space permits.

The cost will be $5 per person and $25 per wine sampled for members of VFN or the VT Grape & Wine Council; $15 per person and $30 per wine for non-members.

If you are interested in participating please send the following information to helen@vermontfresh.net:

  1. Who you would like to have attend from your winery (including people you would like on the waitlist if it is more than two people).
  2. Contact information for those people.
  3. Which wines you would like to have tasted (please rank in order of priority and please limit to 3).

We need this information by Monday April 23rd to put together the final list of participants and wines being tasted. We will follow up after the 23rd with final details.

This workshop is funded in part by a grant from the Specialty Crop Block Grant program at the Vermont Agency of Agriculture. We additionally thank The Essex Resort & Spa for donating space for this program.

Thank you to Flavor Plate for donating their time and effort to the design and co-development of our website.
