More than an Apple Orchard—Workshops, Events & Historic Rentals!
Our 571-acre property, owned by Landmark Trust USA, is home to 23 historic structures and 40 acres of hillside orchards heavy with fruit in season. In addition to producing heirloom apples and other fine fruits, we offer a series of educational workshops and special events at the farm.
The property is also available for weddings, social events, and seminars. Come for a day trip or plan to stay in one of four beautifully restored historic rentals that surround the farm (open year-round), such as Naulakha and The Kipling Carriage House, formerly the home of famed writer Rudyard Kipling.
120 Varieties of Ecologically Grown Apples & Other Fine Fruits
Scott Farm Orchard, managed by Orchardist Zeke Goodband, produces 120 varieties of certified ecologically grown apples – heirlooms with names such as Roxbury Russet, Belle de Boskoop, and Cox’s Orange Pippin, and unusual varieties like Winter Banana and Hidden Rose – some of the finest in color, texture, and taste. Other fruits include quince, gooseberries, medlars, Asian pears, plums, elderberries, table grapes, pears, blueberries, nectarines, and peaches—available at our Farm Market and at local coops, farm stands and grocery stores.
Farm Market & Pick-Your-Own Orchard
Visitors are welcome to stop by the Farm Market and pick up a bag of fruit, heirloom cider, pies, cheeses, jams, jellies, maple syrup and other Vermont-made products and items. Plan to picnic by our pond, see the many stone walls constructed by the Stone Trust, and head to our PYO orchard for a memorable apple picking experience. Our pick-your- own orchard, offering McIntosh, Spigold, Cortland, Jonagold and Macoun apples, is open 7 days a week from Labor Day into October. The Farm Market is open until the day before Thanksgiving. To ensure food safety, we ask that you not bring dogs into the Farm Market or the PYO orchard.
