Networking - Panels - Discussions

The VFN Annual Meeting is a chance to connect with farmers, food producers, distributors, chefs and other culinary professionals. It combines panel discussions and plenty of informal networking opportunities, plus a chance to shape VFN's work for the upcoming year. 12:00 - 1:00 Future of Food in Vermont - Culinary Panel. We’re looking at the future in the VFN context (intersection of farmers & chefs) - trends in consumer interests, changing logistics in sourcing local, goal setting for local purchasing.

3:00 - 3:50 How do current trends affect the VFN social mission? - Small group discussions. The social mission of VFN is around environmental sustainability, strength of rural communities, and in particular around food system transparency. How do key trends affect these goals? (Positive or negative). Can we prioritize the areas of greatest concern (again, positive or negative)?      

3:50 - 4:00 Groups report on their results A very quick around the room, VFN will collect notes and prepare a complete report later.
