The winner and a guest will have the rare opportunity to join Michael Pollan at a small private dinner gathering on Tuesday, June 10th at Penny Cluse Café in Burlington. Other dinner guests will include select members of the Vermont Food Systems Leadership and Policy Institute and the Vermont Fresh Network.

Proceeds from the raffle will benefit the Vermont Fresh Network and the Vermont Food Systems Leadership and Policy Institute.
Michael Pollan is the author of In Defense of Food: An Eater's Manifesto, published in January 2008 by The Penguin Press. His previous books include The Omnivore's Dilemma: A Natural History of Four Meals, named one of the ten best books of 2006 by the New York Times and the Washington Post; The Botany of Desire; Second Nature; and A Place of My Own. Pollan is a contributing writer to the New York Times Magazine and is a Knight Professor of Journalism at UC Berkeley. Pollan is coming to Vermont as part of a guest lecture series organized by the Vermont Food Systems Leadership and Policy Institute (a program of the University of Vermont).
