Crowley Cheese is the oldest cheese factory in the United States, built in 1882, listed on the National Historic Register. The Factory is open to the public and visitors are encouraged to watch cheese being made most weekdays from 8-4 (call first to confirm). Cheese can be sampled and purchased at the factory, along with other Vermont-made specialties.
product description:Award-winning Crowley Cheese has been made in the Green Mountains of Vermont from the same recipe, in the same manner, since 1824. Hand-made the old-fashioned way, it's cheese the way it used to be -- all natural, with no additives or preservatives. Pure, simple, delicious: cheese that everyone will love. With a distinctly smooth, creamy texture and unique flavor, Crowley is often compared to a cheddar "without the bite". Crowley Cheese is available in clothbound wheels, blocks and bars in a variety of flavors and aged versions. Crowley Cheese is particularly delicious in recipes that call for melted cheese.
delivery notes:We personally make deliveries to establishments based in Rutland, Windham and Windsor counties. All other orders are shipped via UPS ground service.
